KWA Short Story Quill Awards

Here's your opportunity to enter our short story contest and not only win a KWA Quill award but be able to boost your author platform with "an award-winning author" status!

Submission Guidelines:

Fictional short story

Maximum 7500-word count, double-spaced, 12pt Times New Roman font, normal margins, pages numbered

Frontpage content- Your name, email, page total, word total, Title of your short story

Submissions accepted March 14-October 31


Judging Criteria: ( 10 pts. each)

Writing skill (errors and overall structure of the story)

Storytelling ability



Heart points (how it touches the reader)


KWA Quill Award (Best Overall) will win $100

KWA Gold- application fee paid for

KWA Silver- application fee paid for

KWA Bronze- application fee paid for

Winners announced at KWA Christmas Gathering


The panel will consist of KWA leaders and selected Vision Leads. Judges will not be allowed to enter the contest. 

Submission Fee:

$10 for KWA Members for each submission

$20 for non-members for each submission
