Shelley Hickox first discovered her passion to write when her 2nd-grade teacher assigned the class to write short stories and share on the “magic carpet.” This became her first captive audience and she hit the ground running, entertaining friends and family with stories ever since. This passion led her to obtain her B.A. in journalism and creative writing from Point Loma Nazarene University, graduating in 2009.
Since then, Shelley shifted from editorial and has found a niche for her copywriting skills in marketing; crafting engaging copy as a brand storyteller for many organizations. She is currently working on a YA urban fantasy novel and has been inspired by the likes of C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling, Veronica Roth, and Suzanne Collins. Shelley also enjoys writing songs, poetry and flash fiction. She discovered KWA at the inaugural Festival of Books at Liberty Station in 2017. It was a match made in heaven!

As a middle school teacher, Rob is disturbed with the worldview imposed on young people by the dominant culture. He didn’t embrace being a writer until 2015 while seeing God’s revelatory power capturing students’ imaginations through allegory.
He is currently working on a children’s story about growing into the big fish in a small, polluted pond. Through a series of adventures, the protagonist discovers that life grows meaningful and exciting when we sincerely ask the right questions.
Rob’s greatest desire is to ignite thoughts that stimulate a vision to be a world changer. No matter how inadequate young people may feel, they yearn to be released to greatness. This only happens when asking better questions about themselves and their purpose. Rob writes to release seekers, trusting God to reveal Himself. He prays that God will use his books to impact the trajectory of kids’ lives and legacy.
