We don't retreat, we advance!
Each year, we gather a group of writers and creatives for a time of refreshing, renewal, and reactivation. Participants discover an open portal of creativity and a deeper sense of their assignment as Kingdom writers and creatives. Whether it's in the local mountains of Southern California, the grounds where Tolkien and Lewis walked in Oxford, England, or other locations across the globe, the experience is life-changing.
As we expand across the nation and abroad, we are blessed to be able to offer events across these locations through our local chapters.
PLUNDERING THE DARKNESS WORKSHOP
DECEMBER 2, 2023
We were born into a war. We have walked through dark times. Whether physical, emotional, or situational, the effects can leak out into our current reality and prevent us from walking out the fullness of our identity and calling in Christ.
How do we reconcile these dark times with God? How can we go back into these dark places and then write to help others?
Our God is the God of restoration, redemption, and transformation!
In this Holy Spirit-driven, half-day intensive, KWA Director Brae Wyckoff will help you navigate your story and plunder the darkness—get everything that the enemy stole from you and then some! By the power of the Holy Spirit and through carefully crafted writing exercises, God will uncover the gold within your personal story, and you will gain your breakthrough.
Space is limited, so register early to secure your spot. This is an IN-PERSON workshop. It will NOT be online.
Date: December 2, 2023
Time: 8:30-12:30 (Includes continental breakfast, coffee, tea, and water).
Location: Vista, CA. (The exact address will be emailed upon registration).
Regular Registration (after 11/27): $119 Members / $139 Non-Members
What does it look like to collaborate with Holy Spirit and impact others through my creativity? Can God work through any creative expression? Can He work through mine? Why would He want to? Does He truly view my creativity as an act of worship and a weapon of war? Does the Bible substantiate this?
We invite you to join us for this very special Creativity Advance in the hills of Vista, CA (North San Diego County), where we'll explore these questions and more.
Why an Advance? Because Kingdom creatives don't retreat from anything. We advance with the gifts God has given us—for HIS glory.
This 2-1/2 day Advance (with optional 3rd day not included in the price of registration) includes sessions with KCI Directors Brae and Jill Wyckoff and special guest speakers/creatives: KCI Cashmere, WA Greenhouse Collective Leader Allison Lewis, and KCI Central Illinois Collective Leader Marnie Baxter.
Together with other Christ-centered creatives in a safe and intimate atmosphere, you will discover new levels of your identity as a Kingdom Creative. And by the empowering grace of the Holy Spirit, through biblically-based, informative, and inspiring sessions, activations, an outreach, and a variety of creative exercises, you'll gain greater revelation of your design.
It's time to throw off all hindrances and run the race God put before you to create for Him. He is calling His army of creatives (that means you) to rise up. Ephesians 2:10 declares that you are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for you to do so that you would walk in them. He put everything you need in you so that it would come out of you. His intention was always that you would walk in your original design, bless others and glorify Him through your creative expression. You were created for such a time as this. You were created to advance His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Let's advance together.

The Kingdom Writers and Creatives ADVANCE is for those who desire to progress to the next level in their calling to create and write for the Lord. This multi-day Advance includes training, creative exercises and activations, and inspirational excursions to the Ark Encounter (full-scale replica of Noah's Ark), Cane Ridge Meeting House (site of the 2nd Great Awakening), and Cumberland Falls (the Niagara of the South). The Advance ends with a powerful commissioning ceremony.
KWA and KCI Directors Brae and Jill Wyckoff, along with special guest speakers, bring an unparalleled Holy Spirit-driven event that will encounter participants and advance them personally, creatively, and spiritually to carry out their calling for such a time as this.
The Wyckoffs have been leading an annual Advance in Idyllwild, CA, for the past eight years, and now, for the first time, they're extending beyond CA to the beautiful state of KY.
Somerset, KY, home of beautiful Lake Cumberland, is located in the south-central area of the state, an hour and a half south of Lexington, KY, and north of Knoxville, TN. There are a number of hotels and vacation rentals in the area, plenty of local eateries, and a lovely downtown area.
The Advance will be held at Victory Christian Fellowship (VCF), 1156 Oak Hill Road, Somerset, KY, 42503. VCF is the home of our local KWA Chapter, and Pastor Chris Edwards is passionate about championing Kingdom writers and creatives. Brae and Jill are blessed to call VCF their church home when they're in Somerset and know that participants will be inspired by the anointed atmosphere there.

OXFORD WRITERS ADVANCE
AUGUST 2-10, 2024
We're in the planning stages of our 2024 Oxford Advance. Join us for this life-changing trip and be inspired by the city that inspired some of the greatest authors of all time.
There will be teaching by KCI/KWA Directors Brae and Jill Wyckoff and notable author Mark Stibbe (whose father was mentored by C.S. Lewis). We will dine in the pubs where the Inklings gathered, tour the home of C.S. Lewis, and see the Narnia window in his home church. We'll stroll Addison's walk, where C.S. Lewis walked with Tolkien and Hugo Dyson till the wee hours of the morning, discussing Christianity. We'll visit Tolkien's grave, tour the oldest family-owned bookstore in the world, visit the Bodleian Library, and so much more. And we'll still have plenty of free time for you to explore all the incredible sites this inspirational "City of Dreaming Spires" has to offer.
Due to rising inflation, the projected total cost for this trip is $5,000-$6,000. Once confirmed, we will post registration costs (including lodging, breakfast, training, and tours).
LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE! Please note that you will be sharing a room. Lock in your spot today and come to Oxford with us on this life-changing trip.

"Thank you, thank you! From the depths of my spirit. Thank you! I knew I had to go to the Kingdom Writer's Advance as soon as I saw the post. I arrived without knowing anyone but left knowing that I was part of a beautiful, new community. The atmosphere you both cultivated on the mountain was welcoming, genuine and liberating. Every moment was taken into consideration. Every person celebrated. You cannot put a price on the gifts of God and they were abundant under your loving leadership. God bless you for your faithfulness to His calling." - Donna A
